The Daily Dive, step by step
- Go to the original game. Open krillion.io and select the Daily Dive. The introduction includes the game’s own rules.
- Begin your descent. The daily game gives everyone the same seven prompts. Its rules allow one daily dive, so be ready before you start.
- Read the whole prompt. Enter one answer within the 25-second window. A name that belongs to the broad topic can still miss a restriction in the question.
- Follow your answer’s result. Accepted answers receive a rarity tier. Complete all seven prompts to finish your dive.
- Read points as depth. Each point is 10 metres. The maximum of 700 points corresponds to 7,000 metres.
Krillion scoring and rarity tiers
The official client lists six answer tiers. The table shows the points and corresponding depth for one accepted answer, rather than a whole dive.
| Accepted answer tier | Points | Depth |
|---|---|---|
| Plankton | 10 | 100 m |
| Too Clever | 15 | 150 m |
| Schooler | 30 | 300 m |
| Rare | 60 | 600 m |
| Deep Cut | 85 | 850 m |
| One in a Krillion | 100 | 1,000 m |
The top tier is a designated gem. The official FAQ says it is selected partly for the pleasure of finding it, so it is not always the least familiar answer.
What “rare” actually means
The official FAQ describes a curated scoring process: familiarity data can inform a question’s tiers, while other questions need assisted editorial judgment. Avoid treating a tier as a live percentage of people choosing an answer.
Tips and strategy
The following suggestions are our own approach to the rules. They cannot guarantee an accepted answer or a high score.
Read for restrictions
Before searching your memory, identify what qualifies. A date, location, spelling condition or exclusion can change the answer you should give.
Think in branches
Once you have a safe possibility, mentally explore a different part of the category: another place, period or subcategory. Choose a less obvious answer only if you can still explain why it fits.
Keep a fallback
Do not spend the whole window searching for a perfect gem. Have a dependable option ready and leave yourself time to type it clearly.
Review before drawing conclusions
An answer can be missing from a curated list. Autocorrect can also match an unexpected alias. If a result surprises you, check the recognized answer and the prompt, then consult the official FAQ.
Using daily hints without spoiling everything
When verified updates are available, start with the hint and open an answer only if you want the spoiler. Our Krillion hints and answers page currently contains an unfilled update template, with its verification status clearly shown.
Other modes and access
The official menu also links to Unlimited, Archive and themed packs. Check the official site for current access rules, pricing and availability. This guide covers the Daily Dive; other modes may work differently.
